Diana seeks a female dancer/actor to perform in the The Big Range Dance Festival in Austin.

Description of the part is as follows:

I have been working with a dancer in Los Angeles who is not going to be able to make the trip with me to Austin. The piece I am doing has a duet section that I’d love to perform. Do you know any female dancers or actors in Austin who might be interested in being part of the work? I’d be seeking a slightly built mover–I carry this person on my back, so she needs to be petite–and someone who might be able to handle minimalist work.

The performance is The Big Range Dance Festival. I am performing in “The Dance Carousel” (presenting four 1 minute pieces). I will arrive June 28 (I hope). Rehearsal and performances will be the weekend of June 28-30.

WHO: Blue Lapis Light

WHAT: Blue Lapis Light will hold dancer auditions for a ground ensemble section in their upcoming show, Heaven/Earth/One, on the terrace of the Long Center for the Performing Arts.

Chaddick Dance Theatre is looking for 2 new dancers to work in the company as well as a few extras dancers for short sections of the work.

You must have trained in either ballet, jazz, or modern, have some theater experience, and be over 21 years of age. Also, you must be available to rehearse 2 – 3 times per week (some rehearsals will be in the afternoon) and take company class regularly. Rehearsals start in late August for a Spring show.

ABOUT: {254} dance-festival is facilitated through Waco Cultural Arts Festival and Out On A Limb Dance Company. Both entities are excited about setting a stage for professional contemporary dance in Waco, bring artists in and challenging local artists to participate and collaborate in the process.

FESTIVAL VISION: {254} dance-festival strives to bring professional and pre-professional contemporary movement ideas to Central Texas. We are seeking artists that push the limits of dance while also exploring dance traditions. We would like to provide the audience with current dance making ideas in movement, performance, choreography, and collaboration, that one cannot find in popular cultural.
