Dance Institute Performance Academy
Avery is 12 years old and attends Canyon Ridge Middle School in Austin, TX. She started dancing at the age of 3, and currently dances as part of the Dance Institute Performance Academy here in Austin, TX. Avery competes in various year-round dance competitions, including YAGP, and was accepted into the ABT Summer Intensive this July. Avery just completed NYCDA nationals in NYC where she was named one of the Top 20 Capezio Model finalists. Avery performs ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip hop, ballroom, tap, and musical theater.
Lyla is 14 years old and currently training at Ballet Austin Academy in the Advanced Division. She is also a member of the Kupe Ballet Company at MUV Dance and Fitness. Lyla trains in ballet, contemporary, jazz and ballroom and was accepted into the Bolshoi Summer Intensive. Lyla is currently training to attend YAGP this upcoming year, where she will perform a variation as well as compete a contemporary solo. Lyla will also compete her contemporary solo at several competitions with MUV Dance. Lyla is very involved with school as well. She is currently an eighth grader at Hudson Bend Middle School where she is a member of the National Junior Honor Society. Lyla also volunteers as a “Buccaneer Friend”, it’s an organization at Hudson Bend Middle School that assists with students who have special needs – playing board games, drawing and helping with homework. If Lyla is not dancing or studying, she can be found cuddling on the couch with her beloved French Bulldogs who own a huge portion of her heart.
My name is Camryn or Cami I am 13 years old and attend The Austin School of Classical Ballet, I have been dancing since I was 4 years old and hope to one day join a professional company.
Molly McBurney is a 15 year old competitive dancer from Austin, Texas. She began dancing at 3 years old, and is training as part of Austin’s Dance Elite and the Protégée program at Alisa’s Dance Academy. She trains in all styles of dance, but especially enjoys contemporary and ballet. She has had the opportunity to train with many amazing instructors through the American Ballet Theatre Summer Intensive, Youth America Grand Prix, and many other conventions/competitions such as NYCDA, Intrigue, and more. Her dream is to attend a performing arts college, and dance professionally with a company such as ABT, Complexions, or LINES.
14 year old Abigail Miller was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and moved to Austin, Texas at the age of 3 years old. The next year, Abigail asked her mom to put her in dance classes and she instantly loved it! When she was 6 years old, she got the opportunity to join the dance team at her studio Alisa’s Dance Academy. Being on the team made Abigail realize that dance was something that she definitely wanted to do for the rest of her life. She still feels this passion every time she steps into the studio today. This past few summers, Abigail has had the opportunity to attend the prestigious ballet schools ABT and Ellison in New York for 2 weeks and 6 weeks. In the future, she hopes to pursue her love of ballet and dance at American Ballet Theatre as a Principal Ballerina.
Dancing since the age of 3, Kara chose to enter the competitive dance world six years ago. She is a member of the Dance Institute Performance Academy team in Austin, TX. She trains in all styles from Ballroom to Hip Hop, but she has a very special place in her heart for Ballet, especially Pointe. Kara loves the intense training that is required with competitive dance. When she isn’t dancing, she is focused on school and volunteering at Red Arena which assists individuals with disabilities ride horses. Kara lives by the wise words of Robert Collier, “Success is the sum of small efforts – repeated day in and day out.”
I am 14 years old. I started dancing when I was two years old. I have just recently been accepted and will be training in the Professional Program at Houston Ballet. I enjoy many genres of dance including ballroom, tap, hip hop, jazz, lyrical, and contemporary. My favorite genre of dance is ballet! Ballet is my favorite because it is so elegant and challenging!
Olivia was born in Austin Texas, and is currently a trainee at Cincinnati Ballet. Prior to her training at Cincinnati Ballet, she danced at Dance Institute in Austin, TX. Olivia has participated in summer intensives at Cincinnati Ballet, Ellison Ballet, Bolshoi Ballet in NYC, and Complexions Contemporary Ballet.
I was born in Seattle Washington but currently reside in round rock. I have been dancing for 7 years at Texas Academy of Ballet under the directions of Carolyn Bognor. For the last 4 years I’ve been a part of a company at my studio called Ballet Royale. I have competed in local competitions and YAGP for the last three years. The styles of dance I practice are ballet, contemporary, character, and jazz. For summer intensives, I have been to southland ballet academy(summer ‘16) and this summer I am excited to be training at Pacific Northwest ballet in Seattle this summer. Besides dance I enjoy being outdoors and hiking with my friends and family and going on dance photo shoots with my mom.
Isabelle Beatrice Wilwayco is 12 years old. She’s been dancing since she was 3 years old and started training and developing a passion for dance at around age 6. She now does competitions with her dance team Ballet Royale, and train regularly at Texas Academy of Ballet and does Summer intensive’s such as Southland ballet and ABT Ballet. She’s been trained in, RAD ballet, character, contemporary, tap, and jazz. She has received scholarships at different schools for summer intensives and received awards at multiple competitions. “I love to dance, it’s my passion, and so is Movin Easy!”
